EMPI s Type 1 front sway bar for 1971-1973 Super Beetle models is made of 3/4 zinc-plated steel and comes with red urethane bushings. Customers that want to install this sway bar will have to use the original mounts. The sway bar is attached to the car in four places. The two stock clamps and the new bushings that come with this kit secure the middle section of the bar to the chassis. The two ends of the sway bar fit into the control arm with press-in bushings that can be found in EMPI s control arm bushing kit (P/N 16-5107). Installing a front sway bar improves handling by controlling body sway and prevents wheel hop under hard cornering. Fits VW super beetle front ends up to 1973. EMPI s Type 1 sway bar for 1969 and later models (with I.R.S.) comes complete with all the bushings, brackets and hardware needed for installation. The bar is made of 3/4 zinc-plated steel. This sway bar kit is not a replacement for an original part, but can be mounted without any modification to the car. The steel clamps hold the bushings against the torsion tube and the brackets bolt between the spring plate and the trailing arm. Installing a rear sway bar improves handling by controlling body sway and prevents wheel hop under hard cornering.

EMPI s deluxe sway bar mounting kit for the stock bar is designed for use with a 1/2 diameter sway bar. The kit fits all Standard VW Beetle through 1979 and Karmann Ghia models through 1974. The complete deluxe kit comes with 4 red urethane bushings and stainless steel t-bolt style clamps to secure the sway bar to the trailing arms. This kit fits link pin and ball joint front ends.

EMPI's Stainless Steel T-Bolt Sway Bar Clamps are the simple way to mount your stock or 3/4 inch sway bar. The stainless steel sway bar clamps unbolt and wrap around the sway bar bushings and sway bar and with everything in place, the T-Bolts can be tightened up. The bolt on clamps are far easier to install than the original compression clamps and fit all Type 1 models (1954 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1956 through 1974 Karmann Ghias and 1973 through 1974 Things).
