This was used on 1971+ Type 1s, and 1971 Type 2s. This cools the oil a lot better than the inches In Shroud inches earlier model cooler, because it doesn't block the fans air flow to the jugs.
To use this cooler you need the oil cooler adapter, which moves the cooler to the front side of the shroud. This is standard on later models. Also the fan shroud MUST be a inches doghouse inches style and have a small tin area attached to the shroud the houses the cooler

The Late Model VW Oil Cooler Seal is a stepped seal with 16mm OD rings on either side of the seal and are used on late model, dual relief engine cases. The oil cooler seal mounts between the oil cooler and the case adapter and the adapted and the case on 1971 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles and 1971 Type 2 Bus models which will use a total of 4 seals.
