The VW 6 Volt Generator Pulley fits 1200cc 40 Horse, 1300 and 1500cc engines with a 6 Volt Generator. The pulley is an assembly with 2 pieces, the back pulley half and the front half. Separately sold shims are used to set the belt tension (more shims in between the pulley halves loosens the belt). To keep the pulley tight, make sure to put the remaining shims on the face of the pulley, before the separately sold generator washer and nut are installed. The 6 Volt Generator Pulley fits 1961 through 1966 Beetles, 1961 through 1966 Karmann Ghias and 1961 through 1966 Type 2 Bus models.
