Large stroke engines and aftermarket fan shrouds always produce a gap between the fan shroud and cylinder covers. This 1/4 inches thick aluminum spacer fills it back in to improve cooling by retaining the air inside the system. Fan Shroud Sealing Tin, Doghouse Shroud to Oil Cooler AKA Hoover Bit

EMPI has redesigned this critical piece of engine tin using CAD with a wider lip creating an improved seal. Frequently overlooked and omitted during engine builds; the Hoover Bit must be bolted directly to the rear of the doghouse oil cooler. A missing Hoover Bit results in a less effective cooling system, leading to poor performance.

Please note that modifications may be required when installing aftermarket engine tin.
