This replaces your non-locking deck lid latch with a lockable version to prevent vandalism or theft. Comes with keys, and installation is a very easy. The 1972 and later style looks the same but uses 1 screw to hold it to the decklid, while this one uses 3 screws. Rear Decklid, with Louvers, 1968-79 Beetle and Super Beetle, 113-827-025AD replaced your rusted and battered decklid. The 4 Vent Decklids were originally used on 1972 and newer models, but many 1968-72 owners use them to get more air to the engine so they can run as cool as possible on those hot Summer days! Convertibles have no vents below the rear window, so they always had vents on the decklids.
USA-spec decklids are no longer available! The few OEM decklids we have left were imported from Brazil and may have emblem mounting holes in non-USA model locations (that you will need to fill) and/or you may need to drill holes to mount your original USA model emblems.
