The strut inserts fit 1971 through early 1973 (Chassis #1333003655 / 1533003655) which are using EMPI adjustable strut housings. This strut insert is sold individually and can not be used with stock VW strut housings.

EMPI's replacement springs for VW Super Beetle front end are made new of high tension spring steel and fit all stock Super Beetle models (1971 to 1979). The strut springs install over the shocks, carrying the weight of the vehicle over the wheels. If your front end is sagging, your springs are probably weak and need to be replaced. These springs work for both stock height and lowered struts. Springs are sold as a pair.
